01 · Client context

An organization connecting many sources of information.

A maritime client operates in a sector where decisions depend on operational, financial and market information arriving from many sources. As the organization developed, information was spread across departmental files, separate systems and manual processes, which made consolidated management insight difficult to produce.

Rather than addressing these issues one tool at a time, the engagement treated data, processes, systems and decision-making as parts of the same organizational capability. Individual workstreams were defined around specific needs, and each built on the foundations established by the others.

02 · Challenges

Business and organizational challenges.

  • Fragmented operational information

Data relevant to management was held in disconnected datasets with differing structures and definitions.

  • Manual administrative effort

Recurring operational and administrative tasks relied on repetitive manual handling of information.

  • Process and governance structure

Management processes, documentation and information security practices needed a more formal and consistent structure.

  • Controlled use of AI

There was interest in AI-assisted work, alongside a clear need to keep organizational information under internal control.

  • Decision support beyond operations

Investment monitoring, economic conditions and the competitive environment called for structured analytical frameworks.

  • Systems modernization

A move to a new ERP environment required careful alignment between business processes, data and reporting.
